WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) - Convicted killer Calvin McMillan will learn his fate in an Elmore County courtroom this week.

Jurors found the man guilty of Capital Murder Friday for the shooting death of Bryan Martin in August, 2007.

Martin died in the parking lot of the Millbrook Wal-Mart as McMillan drove away in the victim's pickup truck.

The sentencing phase of the trial started Monday where the prosecution and defense re-established their cases - calling family members of both the victim and the suspect to the stand.

The defense used McMillan's troubled childhood to develop their case.

On Tuesday the prosecution and the defense will make their closing arguments and the judge will charge the jury to sentence McMillan.

He faces life without the possibility of patrol or the death penalty.
