Retired Episcopal bishop dies

Birmingham, Ala. (WSFA) - A retired bishop of the Episcopal church in Alabama has died. The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama says Wednesday the Right Reverend Robert O. Miller died Monday at a hospital in Birmingham where he was recuperating from heart surgery.

The 74-year-old was the spiritual leader of the state's Episcopal churches for almost a decade until he retired in 1998.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham.
