Covington County's DA wins state honor

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Covington County's district attorney has picked up a statewide honor.

Greg Gambril was named District Attorney of the Year by the Alabama District Attorney Association.  Gambril has worked in the district attorney's office since 1992, and took over as the top man in the office in 2004. Gambril has successfully prosecuted 4 capital murder cases, and has helped push legislation against meth.  

Gambril is married and has 2 children.

    Interstate 65 is shut down at the Montgomery and Lowndes County line, at mile marker 158, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.  MCSO advises both northbound and southbound lanes are shut down because of a multi vehicle accident.
