Prattville city council approves pay adjustment

The Prattville city council approved a pay adjustment Tuesday night for city employees. The city council unanimously approved the $400,000 increase.

The vote came up after a pay study suggested the city make changes in its pay scale to remain competitive with other cities.

Councilors did change the start of the increase.  Instead of being effective July first, they moved it to October.  Mayor Jim Byard tells WSFA 12 news, he is disappointed in that change because it was budgeted to go into effect in July, but respects the council's decision.

Auburn University Montgomery conducted that pay study for the city.
