FORT RUCKER, AL (WSFA) - Nearly 100 soldiers from Fort Rucker is safely home after returning for a tour of duty in Iraq Friday.
The 164th theater Airfield Operations Group spent the last year in Iraq and Afghanistan assisting in air traffic operations.
After a year away from family soldiers said they can't wait to spend some time at home.
"I'm happy there is no other word to mention it, without your best friend, your spouse, it really takes a toll on your body and your mind but it's nice to be home with your wife," says Master Sergeant Jeremy Payton.
This was the second deployment for the 164th in the war on terror.
