Fort Deposit officers in court

Two Fort Deposit police officers made their first court appearance Friday for first degree robbery charges and ethics violations.

A Butler County judge set the officers bond at a half million dollars.  Former officer Jesse Fuller attended the arraignment with an attorney and was transported back to the Crenshaw County Jail.  Tyson Bennett was arraigned without an attorney, he was taken back to the Lowndes County Jail.

The officers face the charges for allegedly pulling over a vehicle and robbing the driver on Interstate 65 in Lowndes County.

The officers next court appearance will be their preliminary hearing.  No word on the date of that hearing.
