MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery police say they've arrested two suspects in connection with the Monday robbery of the Xtra Discount Drugs store.

Investigators say a man with long dread locks walked into the business on Copperfield Drive and pulled a gun. He then demanded prescription narcotics.

The robber ran from the store and took off in a dark colored vehicle with another occupant.

Investigators say around 5pm an off-duty Montgomery Police officer spotted a vehicle and subject that matched the description of the robbery suspect in the parking lot of Eastbrook Apartments in the 800 block of Coliseum Blvd.

When detective units arrived on the scene they found 22-year-olds Kein Dansby and Matthew Oates who lived in the same apartment. A search of their residence and vehicle was conducted and several of the prescription narcotics taken in the robbery were located, authorities said.

Dansby was charged with Robbery 1st Degree and placed into the Montgomery County Detention Facility under $60,000 bond. Oates was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 1st Degree and placed into the Montgomery County Detention Facility under $30,000 bond.
