Trojans face high expectations again

TROY, Ala. (AP) - The Troy Trojans are once again facing high expectations in the Sun Belt Conference.

The Trojans are preseason favorites to capture their fourth straight league title.

Coach Larry Blakeney spoke in Tuesday's Sun Belt media day conference call along with quarterback Levi Brown, last year's newcomer of the year.

Blakeney said he likes his team's talent and experience but there are gaps to fill, especially in the defensive secondary and offensive line. He said he doesn't worry about the added pressure of favorite status.

The Trojans face a tough nonconference schedule that includes visits to Arkansas and defending national champion Florida.

They had eight players named first-team preseason all-conference by league coaches.
