AUBURN, AL (WSFA/WTVM) - Auburn University is creating a jacket that makes you feel cooler, not warmer.
The jacket uses "therma-cool" technology.
The loose weave blocks radiant heat while aluminum reflects the heat.
Auburn university athletes already wear therma-cool caps to help prevent dehydration and improve performance.
A therma-cool cover even drapes the cage of Auburn's eagle mascot making it a full 10 degrees cooler on a hot day.
"We are talking about using this at the Montgomery Zoo..." said David Pascoe of the university's thermal lab." He adds, "It's difficult to tell somebody I'm going to put something on to help you stay cool."
