Covering Butler County: School's superintendent looking elsewhere?

Greenville, Ala. (WSFA) -- WSFA 12 News has confirmed Butler County School Superintendent Mike Looney is a candidate for a superintendent's job in Franklin, Tennessee.

Looney is one of 5 candidates to lead the Williamson County School District.  That school district has nearly 30,000 students and an annual budget of more than $200 million.

Looney submitted his name to a search firm working to fill the Tennessee vacancy.  He's scheduled for an interview in late August.

The Tennessee job pays about $60,000 dollars more than his current position in Butler county.
