MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - More federal money is coming to the state to help thousands of low-income residents reduce their home energy costs.
Governor Bob Riley awarded an additional $30.6 million in economic stimulus funds for weatherization projects in the state. This money is in addition to $9.26 million handed out in late June.
Who qualifies: a family or four can make no more than $44,100 in gross income. A family of two can't exceed $29,140.
The governor expects the grants to stimulate the construction industry providing jobs for folks doing the winterization work.
