Decision 2010: Selma politician happy in current office

Selma, Ala. (WSFA) -- A well known Selma politician says he'll stay where he is in the state legislature.

Democratic State Representative Yusuf Salaam tells WSFA 12 News he'll run for re-election for House District 67 in Dallas county, instead of trying to take the vacant state senate seat left by Hank Sanders.

Salaam says his family and doctor advised him against running.

Sander's district is much larger, it includes Autauga, Clark, Conecuh, Dallas, Lowndes, Marengo, Monroe, Perry, and Wilcox counties.
