MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Police are crediting media reports for the arrest of a man suspected in the rape of an 88-year-old Montgomery woman. The woman was victimized at her Union Street home on Sunday.

An anonymous caller alerted police to the man's identity, known only as "Jamison" at the time. The suspect's name is actually Morris Harris, 41, of Lowndes County.

Detectives swooped in and arrested Harris Wednesday morning on Saint James Street in Montgomery. He was booked on Violation of the Community Notification Act and Attempted Rape 1st Degree.

Authorities would not immediately release a mug shot of Harris pending a photo lineup.

The victim said someone knocked on her door around 1pm Sunday, and she invited him inside. When she told him the person he'd asked to see wasn't home, she said he picked her up, put her on the couch and tried to force sex on her.

Someone who knew the victim showed up at the home a short time later and started yelling at the suspect, who then fled in a blue 1980's model Nissan 280ZX or 300ZX.

Security camera photos were uncovered and released to the media Tuesday. CLICK HERE, HERE and HERE for larger images.

Harris is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a $500,000 bond.
