Stimulus cash to hire Ala. police officers

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - There will soon be more officers on the streets here in Alabama thanks to $1 billion dollars in the federal stimulus package. 

Vice President Joe Biden announced that in cities all over the U.S. one out of every seven police departments will get some money to hire additional officers. 

The cities of Selma, Tuskegee, and Demopolis will get enough money to hire between one and five officers each. Montgomery is not on the list.
