MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Police in Montgomery are investigating a traffic accident on the Atlanta Highway that left a 65-year-old Wetumpka woman dead.

Police say a large truck was heading eastbound when the 65-year-old woman pulled out of Bradley Drive and was hit. She died from her injuries a short time later.

Police believe the cause of the crash may simply be that someone wasn't paying attention.

"The case is still under investigation," said Montgomery Police Major Huey Thornton. "At this point we haven't determined who ran the red light, but one of the vehicles involved apparently ran the red light causing the collision."

Police did not immediately release the victim's name. The driver of the truck was not seriously hurt.
