Tigers set to open fall camp

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Let the competition resume.

The Auburn Tigers restart the position battles when fall camp opens on Wednesday, with everything from quarterback to cornerback potentially up for grabs.

Not surprisingly, a new coaching staff coupled with last season's 5-7 record and a few key departures make for a suspense-filled camp.

Quarterbacks Neil Caudle, Chris Todd and Kodi Burns are battling for the starting job with coaches calling the competition wide open.

Newcomers vying for early playing time include receivers Emory Blake and DeAngelo Benton, linebacker Eltoro Freeman and defensive lineman Nick Fairley.

The players won't practice on the intramural fields this summer. They will also work in the evenings instead of the mornings.
