MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The AUM Dixie Youth Baseball AAA Gold All Star Team won the Dixie Youth Baseball 9-10 Year Old State Tournament.

AUM Gold will represent Alabama as eleven other state teams from across the South begin play in the double-elimination Dixie Youth Baseball World Series Tournament.

The AUM team enters the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series undefeated and have outscored opponents 143-33 in fifteen tournament outings.

AUM Gold manager, Scott Olsey, said the championship game proved that his team is ready for the World Series. "We proved in this tournament that we can play with anybody," he said. "Our guys played with the lead and from behind. Now that we know we can handle any situation, I think we will be just fine."

When asked about winning it all, Coach Olsey remained optimistic. "There are too many variables to say for certain that we will win," he said. "If we play like we did this week, however, I really like our chances."

AUM GOLD opens World Series play against Virginia (Bedford) on Saturday, August 8 at 3:30p.m. CST
