Auburn holds first practice

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - The Auburn football team hit the practice fields for the first day of fall camp.

The Tigers went through a split-session workout that began after a 30-minute rain delay. That allowed players to get more practice repetitions while the other group lifted weights.

Coach Gene Chizik said they structured practice that way because so many positions are wide open.

The emphasis was on individual work for most of the session.

They practice again Thursday afternoon.
