Montgomery, AL (WSFA) - Some local barbers are doing their part to help the community.
Sunday, the folks at Golden Sheers Salon along with lots of volunteers gave out more than 250 free haircuts.
Those who stopped by also got to hear the Carver High School band, and have a day of fun before they head back to school.
Reginald Miller, the owner of the salon, said he organized the event for kids in need.
He said, "We've been so blessed. We've been in business for 12 years, so we decided to put this program together to give back to the community for those who aren't able to pay for these kinds of services. And to also give them free school supplies for the year."
