MACON CO., AL (WSFA) -- The Macon County school district closed all schools Thursday at 1:00 p.m. due to numerous possible cases of H1N1 flu.

The schools will remain closed until Monday.

School officials said they've had a lot of students with flu like symptoms, and with flu cases on the increase throughout the district they felt it appropriate to close all county schools.

The system will use the next several days to clean and sanitized each of it's schools.

It's hoped that the time off will allow students to get healthy again before classes restart
