MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Some schools, volunteers fire departments and other groups must wait to receive millions of dollars in grants.
A meeting of the State Executive Commission on Community Service was cancelled Monday when two members didn't show up.
Lt. Governor Jim Folsom, Jr. called in sick and State Treasurer Kay Ivey skipped the meeting.
Ivey, who presides in Folsom's absence, tells WSFA 12 News she chose not to show up. She says without Folsom she couldn't voice or vote on her recommended changes to the rules to make the process more transparent.
Ivey says her absence had nothing to do with her run for governor.
Another meeting hasn't been scheduled.
