Flu keeps AU's Rollison from practice

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn backup quarterback Tyrik Rollison missed practice with what coach Gene Chizik described as a "touch" of the flu.

Chizik said Tuesday evening that with cases of the flu spreading through area schools, he didn't want to risk Rollison passing it on to teammates.

Reserve running back Eric Smith also remained out of practice a day after surrendering to Auburn police on an assault charge. He hasn't practiced since his arrest late last week.

Chizik has said Smith wouldn't suit up for Auburn until he had "paid a price."

The status of receiver Montez Billings also remained up in the air over an academic issue that sidelined him during the spring. Chizik said someone else would decide if Billings could play in the opener against Louisiana Tech.
