Investigators believed the 14-year-old youngster started the fight.
He was not identified because of his age. He was taken to the Montgomery County Youth Facility.
Police say a second suspect, Jarius M. Fenderson, 19, of 126 East Woodland, is also responsible for the murder.
He was charged and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility where he remains under a $75,000 bond.
The arrests stimmed from the murder of Ossie Sanders Jr., 28, who apparently confronted a drug seller who attempted to steal the purse of a woman Sanders was with.
More than 10-15 people engaged in a fight on the sidewalk of E. Woodland Drive that left Sanders dead. He'd been stabbed and shot.
Police say additional arrests are expected in this case.
