Tallassee, AL (WSFA) - For a lot of students math can be a struggle, but somehow Ms. Carol McDaniel at Tallassee High School makes it all add up. "I love what I do, you can't teach without loving math and kids," McDaniel said.
Tallassee High School is her home. She's taught here for 22 years. "It's very special to me. I graduated from here, so I'm Tallassee Tigers all the way."
The principal at Tallassee High School nominated her for the Class Act award. "Whether it's an entry level or advanced class the kids are always in their seats and the scores are improving because of her," said principal Bobby Abrams.
And Ms. McDaniel isn't afraid of change. "I've become involved in team math, and totally changed the way I teach. I'm more worried about application, inquiry, and discovery, instead of memorization."
