Man to hang from hooks for cancer fundraiser

ATHENS, Ala. (AP) - A 36-year-old Athens man plans to dangle from hooks inserted into his flesh to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Ronnie Fogg plans to be lifted off the ground by ropes and a pulley connected to large hooks through the skin on his chest. He and at least one other person will take turns suspending from 5 p.m. until midnight Saturday at West Coast Tattoo.

Fogg, who has three friends who have been affected by cancer, said it will be his first time getting suspended and that he has been waiting to do it for a long time.

Brad Warden of Newport, Tenn., will insert the hooks into Fogg's skin. Warden has been inserting hooks for suspensions for about two years and cautions that it is not something to try unsupervised by a professional.
