Montgomery, AL (WSFA) - Nearly 100 students followed in the footsteps of voting rights marchers, walking from Selma to Montgomery Labor Day weekend.

But this time it was for health care equality, not voting rights.

The "March for Health Equity" is sponsored by the Student National Medical Association, and it culminated with a rally Sunday night at the Capitol.

The group hopes the event brings renewed awareness to health disparities in minority communities.

The Student National Medical Association is also taking its message to other cities in Alabama including Mobile and Birmingham.
