Longtime WSFA weather watcher dies

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A longtime friend of WSFA 12 News, Mike Morris, has died.

Morris supplied the weatherteam with vital weather information over the years as an official weatherwatcher for the station.

Morris worked with WKXN/WKXK-FM since its sign-on in 1977. He also broadcasted the Greenville High School football games for 33 years.

He is survived by his wife Becky and two children, Jennifer Griffiths and John Michael Morris.

He was just 60 years old.

    Interstate 65 is shut down at the Montgomery and Lowndes County line, at mile marker 158, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.  MCSO advises both northbound and southbound lanes are shut down because of a multi vehicle accident.
