MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Gov. Bob Riley has ordered that state flags be flown at half-staff Friday on the eighth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Riley on Thursday ordered the state flags to be flown at half-staff to honor those who lost their lives because of the terrorist attacks.
Riley also issued a proclamation declaring Friday a "Day of Prayer and Remembrance" in Alabama.
The state's official ceremony remembering the Sept. 11 victims will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville.
