Montgomery School Board Passes Budget

Montgomery, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery County school board cut $60-million from its budget on Monday.

The board of education unanimously passed the $313 million dollar spending plan after holding its second public hearing on the budget.

State funds were cut because of proration, and board members are concerned more cuts could be on the way.

The $313 million school budget is $95 million more than the city of Montgomery's budget. City leaders trimmed about $9 million dollars of their budget to get it down to $218 million.
