The president's visit to the capital city is part of a mid-year conference of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA).

Commissioner Ron Sparks and the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries will host the conference through the 21 of the month.

Top agriculture leaders from all over the United States are in Alabama for the event.

Fox will be the keynote speaker on Friday.

NASDA '09 will enable agricultural leaders and the agribusiness community to come together to exchange ides, address the many issues confronting agriculture, and develop strategies to deal with them.

The NASDA Conference in 2009 will also host a huge Agriculture Exhibit Hall on Friday, September 18th inside the new Renaissance Hotel downtown. ( Full schedule of meetings/activities found here http://www.nasda2009.org).

NASDA represents all of the 50 states in the United States and Puerto Rico. The majority of members are secretaries or commissioners of state departments of agriculture.
