Troy, UAB try to rebound from tough losses

TROY, Ala. (AP) - Troy and UAB could both use a pick-me-up this weekend.

The in-state rivals are trying to rebound from tough-to-swallow losses going into Saturday's meeting at Movie Gallery Stadium.

The Trojans (0-2) endured a 56-6 demolition at the hands of quarterback Tim Tebow and No. 1 Florida last weekend.

The Blazers (1-1) rallied from a 28-7 halftime deficit to SMU and had a chance to tie, but couldn't convert on a two-point attempt after scoring a late touchdown.

It's the first time the teams have faced off since UAB won 21-3 on Sept. 30, 2006. They have split the first six meetings.

Troy has won all 18 home openers under coach Larry Blakeney and 22 in a row.

UAB quarterback Joe Webb is leading Conference USA in rushing yards and is second in total offense.
