MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Investigators in Lee County looking in to a rash of burglaries.
For over a week someone has broken into several homes in the Stephen Woods subdivision during the daylight hours.
The thieves seem to be gaining entry by kicking in the front door and then taking electronics, such as flat sceen televisions.
With support from police, residents are starting up a neighborhood watch.
Captain Allen Elkins of Opelika Police Department suggests, "get to know your neighbor, get to know who lives across the street. You know best what should be in your neighborhood, if you see something out of place call us and let us come take a look."
The Civitan Club in Opelika will host a neighborhood association meeting on September 29th at seven.
