AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - The Auburn Tigers gave up big chunks of yards to West Virginia's slippery offensive stars, missed tackles and allowed 30 points.
The Tigers also forced six turnovers which led to 24 points in their 41-30 win over the Mountaineers Saturday night. It was the kind of mix that could make an old defensive coordinator like Auburn coach Gene Chizik wring his hands one moment and celebrate the next.
Chizik said Sunday he was proud of how the defense hung in there.
The mistakes left West Virginia (2-1) feeling like the team had given one away.
Quarterback Jarrett Brown was intercepted four times - including three in the fourth quarter - and lost a fumble in his first road start. He also made some impressive passes and runs.
