Police increase patrols at Cleveland Avenue YMCA

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Police Department is beefing up patrols around the Cleveland Avenue YMCA after someone fired shots at the building over the weekend.

Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the shots did do considerable damage to the YMCA's cultural arts center.

It's possible the shots came from an abandoned building across the street, which the YMCA has been urging the city to tear down.

YMCA administrators believe the damaged glass will cost somewhere between $500 and $1,000 to replace.

If you would like to make a donation to help with the repairs, please call (334) 834-2232.
