Alabama Linebacker Dont'a Hightower to have Knee Surgery

Alabama football coach Nick Saban confirmed Sunday, linebacker Dont'a Hightower has ligament damage from a knee injury suffered Saturday against Arkansas.

"Dont'a Hightower's MRI confirmed that he has ligament damage in his knee that will require surgery. Dont'a is a fine young man, has been an outstanding player for us, and we are confident he will make a full recovery."

Saban did not say how long Hightower will be out of action, but in most cases, rehab time for this type of injury is 4-6 months.
