HENRY CO., AL (WSFA) - The results are in for Tuesday's special election in Henry County.
Citizens voted on two property tax increases to help fund local schools.
The 1 million tax renewal needed at least 60 percent of the vote to pass.
It barely slipped by with 61% of voters saying yes, 39% saying no.
The money will be used to help schools pay utility bills and renovation costs.
The 3 million property tax increase failed with 47% voting yes and 53% voting no.
That money would have been used to help keep popular Junior ROTC program afloat.
