HEADLAND, AL (WSFA) - One Headland High School student is standing out among his peers statewide, even nationwide.

TK Scott was chosen to represent his school at Boy's State, a program for rising seniors in which students run for office and learn about state government.

Scott was elected Governor by the other students, and served as Secretary of Committee in Boy's Nation, the national arm of the group.  He was also asked to be the key note speaker at the convention for Boy's Nation.

Scott said, "I'm just really glad that I got to represent Headland and the Wiregrass because a lot of times [the Governor's] come from places like Hoover, Huntsville, or Vestavia Hills.  But Headland is a small community, and it doesn't mean that there aren't good guys here and smart children, so it means a lot."

Scott is a senior at Headland High School and plans to attend the University of Alabama after graduation.
