Vols RB Hardesty says he'll play despite knee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee running back Montario Hardesty says he will play against Auburn on Saturday despite having his knee drained early this week.

The 6-foot, 215-pound senior has been limited in practice this week to give his knee a chance to heal.

Defensive end Chris Walker has also been limited in practice because of a sore back.

Coach Lane Kiffin says defensive tackel Wes Brown and linebacker Herman Lathers practiced Wednesday and appear to be in better shape. Brown did not play against Ohio to rest his sore knees and Lathers suffered a concussion in the game.

Kiffin did not know if offensive guard Vladimir Richard would be available against the Tigers.
