Mayor: Senior Bowl to stay in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Mobile Mayor Sam Jones says plans will soon be announced to keep the Senior Bowl game in Mobile. Jones said Friday that the deal is expected to be announced next week.

Milton Joyner, who is chairman of the board that manages Ladd-Peebles Stadium, said all the terms have been worked out and they hope to have everything done by Monday. Ladd-Peebles Stadium board members have been working on a new multiyear deal for months amid reports that bowl officials have been courting other cities.

Joyner declined to discuss the details of the agreement and Jones said he has not seen a draft of the proposal and could not discuss the details.
