ATLANTA, GA (WSFA) - The Southern Christian Leadership Conference is poised to possibly elect it's first female leader.

Bernice King, the youngest daughter of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, is one of two finalists for the SCLC's top post.

The other finalist is Judge Wendell Griffen of Arkansas.

The SCLC was co-founded by Dr. King, who served as its first president.

The board is scheduled to vote on a new president on October 29th.
