MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Police Department says it has arrested a man who reportedly admitted to murdering his father.

The murder happened on Beecher Street just before 10:00 Wednesday night.

Units responded to 2439 Beecher Street where they found Leon Stuckey, 25, in the front yard talking on a cell phone. When officers asked for the location of the subject shot, they said he made a confession: he'd just shot his father and that the victim, identified as 47-year-old Leon Youngblood, was on the couch inside the home.

Youngblood had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators say the two men had apparently been involved in an ongoing dispute over the past month.

During the investigation Stuckey told officers he pulled out a Hi-Point .380 caliber handgun and shot his father while he was lying on the couch.

Stuckey is charged with Murder and he was processed and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility. He's being held on a $75,000 bond.
