Mechanic suffers burns when car catches fire

A Lee County man is in the hospital after an accident at work.  A mechanic at Griffin Auto Repair in Opelika received first and second degree burns after the car he was working on caught fire.

Fire investigators say the fire quickly got out of control when it reached some gasoline stored nearby.

The six cars inside the shop and the building were badly damaged.

The mechanic is said to be doing okay.
