AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn coach Gene Chizik is sticking by quarterback Chris Todd and hoping linebacker Eltoro Freeman finds a role in the defense quickly.
Chizik said Sunday there is no quarterback controversy after Todd struggled for the second straight game. The Tigers dropped their second in a row Saturday night, 21-14 against Kentucky.
Todd passed for just 80 yards while the Wildcats had two 100-yard rushers against Auburn's defense.
Chizik is hoping for help from Freeman soon. The onetime starting linebacker has been relegated mostly to special teams duties. Chizik said it's "very important" for the junior college transfer to get a solid enough grasp of the defense to start contributing again in the thin linebacking corps.
The Tigers visit No. 9 LSU Saturday night.
