About the Alabama Facility

• The two million square-foot facility will be built on 1,700 acres of land in the city of Montgomery, Alabama.

• Construction of the facility began in November 2002.

• The company will invest approximately $1-billion in the new facility.

• Once it is fully operational, Hyundai expects the facility to employ approximately 2,400 people.

• The facility is scheduled to begin production in 2005.

• The combined manufacturing and assembly facility will produce the next generation designs of both the popular Sonata sedan and the Santa Fe sport utility vehicle (SUV) for the North American market.

• In addition, the site will include a stamping plant and an engine plant.

• At maximum capacity, the facility is expected to produce 300,000 units per year.

• The facility will be Hyundai’ s first U.S. manufacturing plant.
