Montgomery, AL (WSFA) - The city of Montgomery is expected to release new budget numbers Monday.

We'll find out if recent cuts to the budget are paying off.

Since sales tax revenues are down, Montgomery has established a city employee health clinic, a new system of medical care for jail inmates, and a smaller employee vehicle take-home program as ways to cut costs.

Mayor Strange says he expects the measures to save anywhere from 1.5 to 3 million dollars.

The city also offset revenue loss by increasing lodging taxes by 15 percent this year.
