Auburn, AL (WSFA) - Dawn Stewart loves her students so much she gets to teach them for the second year in a row. "I love this group," Stewart said. "I got to teach them in second grade and I got to loop up with them this year so it's a lot of fun to see how far they've come."
Stewart has been at Cary Woods Elementary School in Auburn for 5 years and she's been in the classroom for 14 years overall. The person who nominated her for the Class Act Award says she has an infectious smile that brightens up the whole classroom. It's easy to see Mrs. Stewart likes to have fun. "One of our main goals in the 3rd grade is multiplication, so I bought some CD's called "Rock out to times tables. My son is also in the 3rd grade and has an extra guitar at home, so now we rock out to multiplication in class when someone gets a problem right."
It looks like these 3rd graders will be rockin' all year long, thanks to their teacher Mrs. Dawn Stewart, this week's Class Act.
