Lee County, AL (WSFA) - In preparation for the approaching tornado season, Lee county has unveiled a new storm-based warning system. Before, all seven tornado sirens were sounded when a tornado warning was issued. Now, the storm-based warning system allows Lee county emergency management agency (EMA) the ability to focus on areas of the greatest concern. Currently, Lee county is the first in the state to implement a storm-base warning system.
