PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - A local Girl Scout troop is giving back.

Troop 9427 in Prattville donated supplies to the Prattville-Autauga Humane Shelter.

The girls gave food for the animals, blankets, toys and more.

Shelter officials say donations are always needed.

"It's an easy way to give back, it's not something expensive.  The shelter can use old blankets and newspapers that you are going to just throw out," stated Girl Scout leader, Sandi Waters.

"Right now I've got about 150 animals.  All the food, newspapers, and cleaning supplies that we get goes directly to help the animals," said Sabrina Nichols, Director of Autauga Humane Shelter.

The troops also got to name a dog up for adoption.

They chose the name Oreo.
