MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - One man is dead and five others are injured after an early Wednesday morning shooting at a party on South Court Street.
Montgomery police found 17-year-old victim Marcus Alloway with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was later pronounced dead at Baptist South Hospital.
Five other victims arrived at hospitals with gunshot wounds from the same incident ranging from minor to serious injuries. Their ages ranged from 16 years of age to 46.
A 16-year-old female was shot once in the leg. She was treated and released. A 17-year-old female was shot once in the stomach and was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. A 19-year-old male was shot once in the buttocks for which he was treated and released. Another 19-year-old male suffered a minor graze wound to the arm. And a 46-year-old man was shot once in the shoulder which medics say is serious, but non-life threatening.
A motive and suspect for this shooting are still unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
Alloway, a senior at Sidney Lanier High School, is the 29th murder victim in the capital city for 2009. Even though school is out for Veterans Day, school officials say they will have councilors on hand for those needing help when students return Thursday.
