MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals has cleared the way for former Secretary of State Nancy Worley to be tried on felony charges related to her unsuccessful bid for re-election in 2006.
A grand jury indicted Worley on ten counts of using her office to influence the vote or political actions of five of her employees. A judge later threw out the felony counts.
Then, Attorney General Troy King's office appealed and Friday the high court ruled that the lower court was wrong to drop the felony charges.
